Passé revenu is a creation for the 17 performers of Ankata Next generation in Bobo Dioulasso in Burkina Faso.
It brings into play a community of men and women who never leave the space.
Together, they will go through rites that strengthen the bonds of their deep listening, their complicity, their anchored power, their beauty; until an act of violence, as unpredictable as irrepressible, brings death.
The community, stunned, will be forced to face he who took life and he who lost it, as to face their own responsibility and find a way to appeasement.
This piece is conceived for a bare space to be at the heart of the choreographic writing and its humanity.

3D” tackles the complexity of human actions and their consequences for the environment and society. Through dance, theatre, music and slam, Kafando Idrissa uses five dancers to denounce the destruction of nature by man’s selfish behaviour. The title “3D” evokes several dimensions: Destroy, Dimension, Decay and Waste.
The show explores the effects of human activities on the ecosystem, such as air pollution, soil degradation and water contamination. It shows a world where economic and social exploitation take precedence, creating an ecological imbalance with serious repercussions for future generations. The message is clear: the ills we inflict on nature have repercussions for us, and we urgently need to review our actions before the irreversible takes hold.
The performance is a call to the collective conscience to rethink our relationship with nature and our inventions, while highlighting human responsibility for the current climate disorder.

After several performances around the world, choreographer Serge Aimé Coulibaly has passed on his emblematic work, “Kalakuta Republik”, to the young dancers of Ankata Next Generation, a training centre set up in Bobo-Dioulasso. The show is inspired by the revolutionary figure of Fela Kuti, inventor of Afrobeat and symbol of counter-culture in West Africa, while exploring contemporary themes of political and social commitment.
On stage, ten dancers translate Fela’s struggles and commitment to fighting injustice into movement, in a hybrid body language combining traditional dance, jazz and modern improvisation. “Kalakuta Republik” is a reflection on the urgency of life, revolt and the quest for freedom, evoking a world that vacillates between oppression and the aspiration to freedom.
The show questions political commitment and the role of charismatic leaders, without offering any simple answers. It is divided into two parts: one in black and white, where Fela’s music becomes a driving force for reflection on leadership, and another in bright colours, where decadence and insurrection intermingle. Coulibaly invites us to reflect on the conditions of commitment and the capacity of popular movements to bring about real change.

Created in 2014 during the Récréâtrales Nuit Blanche in Ouagadougou is part of the political history of Burkina Faso. The play, performed shortly before the fall of President Blaise Compaoré, became a prophetic echo of the popular uprising that followed. Inspired by recent social movements in Africa and carried by the voice of rapper Smockey, this work explores violence, waiting, awakening and the urgent need to take control of one’s destiny.
Next Generation 2 revisits this major work with a new intensity, while remaining faithful to the spirit of the original creation.
